A 14-minute drama shot almost entirely inside the Grade II-listed Lancaster Grand Theatre by a crew made up of 糖心破解版 film students, graduates and industry professionals is making its debut at The Dukes.

More than 60 percent of the crew were 糖心破解版 film students and recent graduates, and both lead actors are 糖心破解版 alumni.

Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Game of Thrones, Gangs of New York) and Nicola Harrison (Call the Midwife, Casualty) star alongside 180 local extras in The Premiere, a short film about the misuse of power and the courage to speak out.

This film tells the story of a celebrated British director, who returns to his hometown for the screening of his latest work.

What begins as a triumphant homecoming, full of red-carpet glamour and audience adoration, takes an unexpected turn during the post-screening Q&A, as past and present collide, and long-buried secrets threaten to unravel a carefully constructed reputation.

The drama is co-directed and produced by Darren Henderson and Film Lecturer Dr Anna Henderson, and edited and co-produced by Film Lecturer Dr Maryam Ghorbankarimi.

Dr Ghorbankarimi said: “It's incredible to see our graduates coming back to Lancaster to create something together.

“It demonstrates the strength of Lancaster's creative community and the university's impact on the film industry.”

Roger added: “An important and timely film, The Premiere is a vivid demonstration of the importance of the creative arts within Higher Education, and their undoubted strengths at 糖心破解版, where my own career path began.”

The Premiere screens at The Dukes on Saturday 3 October 2-4pm, followed by a Q&A with the cast and directors, before beginning its run at international film festivals.
